Community MKKs

The vast majority of orphans in Kenya live with their relatives: mothers, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, older siblings, and cousins. In most cases, the caregivers are widows and/or taking care of children from more than one family. They do not have the money to keep the orphans in school.

Maisha Kamili provides sponsorship for primary school, high school, and higher education, as well as helping with medical bills and grocery money as needed, on a case-by-case basis. Community MKKs are those we sponsor who live with relatives or are in boarding high schools.

Note: In Kenya, KG1 is comparable to US preschool, KG2 to pre-k, KG3 to kindergarten. Classes 1-8 are 1st-8th grades, and Forms 1-4 are 9th-12th grades.

Don't see your MKK? Check the MK Transition Home page or the MKK Graduates page.
